How much does your service cost?
£20 plus VAT call out fee inclusive of the first ½ hour then £10 plus VAT for every ½ hour on the task chargeable in ½ blocks.
What about materials?
Materials are extra. Some customers use us for labour only, but we are more than happy to source the materials you require for the job. We add a mark-up of 10% to all materials we source and supply as part of the job to cover handling and transaction costs.
What are your standard hours of work?
09.00 β 18.00 Monday to Friday.
Do you work evenings or weekends?
Yes, to agreement we can work on evenings, Saturdays and Sundays for which we charge a 50% premium over all our standard rates.
Do you offer a 24hr service?
No β our standard hours are 09.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday. We can do jobs in the evening, Saturdays and Sundays for a 50% premium over all our standard rates. We take calls from 08.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday and have a messaging system outside this time.
What areas do you cover?
Generally the Darlington Borough area, we will work outside this area where reasonable travelling time is agreed. For our repeat customers we are flexible in this regard.
Are you insured?
Yes, we carry public, employers and all risks liability insurance.
How long have you been established?
We are a newly established business, formed in late 2007, however the business consists of a wealth of both management and operational experience.
How do you advertise?
We have advertised via leaflets, the web, local guides and notice boards particularly in the west end of Darlington.
How can I pay?
We accept cash or a cheque backed with a guarantee card.
When do I pay?
When the task is complete, we provide a service and therefore have similar payment terms to any other service provider.
Do your handymen come with all the right tools?
Yes they do and we also carry the required stocks of small materials necessary for our key tasks such as screws, nails and plumbing fittings.
Do you clean up behind you?
Of course, we live in houses too! We appreciate that we are not in your house we are in your home.
Do you do free estimates?
Our experience gives us a good idea of how long a task may take however we confirm this after assessing the work when we arrive to carry out the task.
How quickly can you come out?
Easyfix is not an emergency service however we will do whatever we can to meet your requirements. Itβs best to give us a call to check out availability.
Do you take all the rubbish away?
Depends upon the task, if we can we will but obviously if there is a lot of waste it must be removed by a registered waste carrier in a suitable container i.e. a skip or tipper truck.
Do you have any CORGI registered engineers?
No, so we don't do any work with gas. We strongly recommend that you speak to a registered CORGI engineer.
Do you have any NICEIC accredited electricians?
No, for new wiring (e.g. adding an entirely new socket) you should contact a specialist electrician. For replacing lights, switches, fans etc Easyfix is well experienced to meet your requirements. If any electrical task is outside of our capability we strongly recommend that you speak to an accredited NICEIC electrician.
Are you members of any associations / bodies?
We are not but this is not because we have anything to hide. Far from it, we are proud of what we have to offer. Our association is our customer base.
Do I have to wait around all day for Easyfix to arrive to carry out the task?
No β we offer fixed time slots, sometimes if a task runs on due to unforeseen circumstances we will call you to let you know and advise the revised time of arrival.
How big are the tasks that you do?
Our tasks generally range from 30 minutes to ½ a day. We will however carry out longer tasks such as making over a room or completing a number of tasks such as snagging works.
Is there any task too small?
No, is it needs fixing we will fix it.
I have checked out your leaflets and website, my job is not on the list?
No problem, we have covered on all our marketing materials our main tasks. With over 20 years experience in the building industry there are few tasks we have not completed.
How can I be sure that the operative is of good character to be working in my home?
All our operatives are CRB checked and carry ID.
Do you do domestic tasks only?
No, we can work for commercial customers however to discuss arrangements in this regard we would like to discuss and agree the scope of them first rather than under the standard terms of engagement.
